Privacy Policy
Last updated: April 3, 2026
We collect only what we need to operate, maintain, and improve the app. This may include anonymized usage and diagnostic information, support subscription validation data, and information you choose to send us when you contact us. We do not sell your data.
Scope
This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, share, and protect information when you use our services (the “Service”).
Information We Collect
- Anonymized Usage and Diagnostic Data: We may collect non-identifiable metrics about how the app is used and how it performs, such as daily/monthly active users, general feature usage, and aggregated crash or diagnostic information made available through app platform tools or similar services. This information is not intended to identify you personally.
- Contact Information: If you contact us through the app or by email, we collect your email address and the contents of your message so we can respond.
- Support Subscription Validation Data: If you start, restore, or verify a support subscription, Apple or Google handles the payment transaction. To confirm your support status, the app may send limited purchase-related data such as a receipt, purchase token, product or subscription identifier, and app or package identifier to our validation service.
- Data Stored on Your Device: The app stores many types of content locally on your device to provide its features, such as your sobriety date, app preferences, bookmarks, highlights, gratitude and nightly inventory entries, cached PDFs, downloaded audio, and related app state.
- Biometric or Device Authentication: If you enable entry protection, the app uses your device’s biometric authentication or passcode through the operating system to help restrict access to your private entries. We do not collect or store your biometric template.
- Location Information: The app does not use or collect your precise location data.
We do not otherwise collect personal information directly from users, and we do not sell or rent your data.
How We Use Information
- Operate, maintain, and improve the Service.
- Save and restore app content, settings, and locally stored features on your device.
- Monitor usage trends, diagnose issues, and resolve errors.
- Respond to inquiries you send us.
- Validate support subscriptions and process restore requests.
- Business events: In a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, relevant records such as contact records and related operating data may be transferred as part of that process.
When We Share Information
- Service Providers: Trusted vendors that help us run communications, subscription validation, hosting, content delivery, analytics, or diagnostics. They are expected to protect information as required to perform those services.
- Platform Providers: Apple and Google may process your purchases, receipts, subscription status, or related transaction data under their own terms and privacy policies.
- Business Transfers: As described above, in connection with corporate transactions.
- Legal: When required by law, regulation, subpoena, or court order, or to protect our rights and users.
Data Retention
- Anonymized usage and diagnostic data may be kept as long as reasonably needed to operate and improve the Service.
- Contact emails and messages may be retained as long as needed to respond, provide support, and maintain reasonable records, unless you request deletion where applicable.
- Subscription validation records may be retained as needed for support, fraud prevention, accounting, and recordkeeping.
- Data stored locally on your device remains there until you delete it, clear it in the app, or remove the app, subject to your device and platform backup behavior.
Your Rights and Choices
Depending on your location, you may have rights such as accessing or requesting deletion of information you provided to us, and the ability to opt out of certain collection where applicable. Contact us to make a request.
You may also manage certain locally stored app data directly from within the app, including clearing cached PDFs and downloaded audio. Support subscriptions can be managed through your Apple App Store or Google Play account settings.
Security
We use commercially reasonable safeguards to protect information. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, but we work to protect information against unauthorized access. Private-entry protection relies in part on device-level security features such as biometrics or passcodes when enabled by the user.
Children’s Privacy
The Service is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect information from children. If you believe a child provided information, please contact us so we can delete it.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this Policy from time to time. Material changes will be posted here with an updated “Last updated” date.
